BROOKLET, Ga. -- Mrs. Rebecca King Cromley, 94, of Brooklet, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility in Statesboro.
    She was born on October 30, 1924, to Clyde Jefferson and Bessie Parker King in Ousley, Georgia, and was preceded in death by both parents. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Chapman Cromley; her brother, Clyde Jefferson King Jr.; her twin sister, Rachael King Martin; and two grandsons, John Timothy Trammell and James Adams Cromley.
    Rebecca graduated from Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern University) in 1945. She was an elementary school teacher, a homemaker and also worked with her husband on the family farm.
    She was an active member of Brooklet United Methodist Church for over 65 years, where she served as Children's Department director for 17 years and taught several Sunday school classes over the years.
    Survivors include daughters, Charlotte Cromley Trammell (Bo) of Fayetteville, Becky Cromley Carter (Glenn) of Hinesville; sons, Lee Cromley (Ann) and Charley Cromley (Pam), both of Brooklet; grandchildren, Clay Trammell (Beth) of Fayetteville, Andrew Trammell of Senoia, Rachel Trammell of Nashville, Tennessee; Robert Carter (Luda) of Richmond Hill, Rebecca Carter of San Diego, California; Mary Catherine Cromley of Washington, D.C.; Mollie Cromley of Brooklet, John Cromley of Brooklet, Ashley Cromley Douglas (John) of Statesboro and Sam Cromley of Brooklet; and three great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Chap Trammell and Luke Carter; several nieces and nephews, special longtime family friend, Ollie Mae Campbell, and Quinn Robinson and all of the wonderful caregivers at Southern Manor Retirement Home.
    A visitation will be held on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Brooklet United Methodist Church, 201 North Parker Avenue, Brooklet, Georgia.
    The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Brooklet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chip Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Brooklet City Cemetery.
    Active pallbearers will be Clay Trammell, Andrew Trammell, Robert Carter, Sam Cromley, John Cromley, John Douglas, Chap Cromley, Hal Cromley, Autrey Moore and Brant Clifton.
