STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Lila Dell Brannen Freeman, age 91, died Monday morning at Brown’s Health & Rehab under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County worked for many years with J.P. Stevens Company and later worked with Dairy Queen of Statesboro until her retirement.
Lila loved working in her garden along with her husband and tending to her flowers.
She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson Freeman; and her siblings.
Surviving are her sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky and Ann Freeman of Metter, Randy Freeman of Statesboro and James Freeman of Nebraska; and three grandchildren, Andrew Freeman of Statesboro, Jonathan Freeman, and wife, Becky, of Statesboro; and Jessica Freeman of Nebraska. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Nick Spletstoser officiating. Burial will be in the Brannen Family Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
