CLAXTON/PORTAL, Ga. -- Mrs. Collette Barber Davis, age 80, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at her residence under the care of Bethany Hospice, following a long illness.
    Collette was born to the late Collie Barber Sr. and Bertha Brown Barber in Statesboro. She attended Portal High School and married her late husband, Henry A. Davis.
    She worked for 13 years as a seamstress at Thompson Company in Millen. She spent her later years in life as a homemaker.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister-in-law, Hazel Barber.
    Collette is survived by her daughter, Vilette Jordan (Wayne) of Claxton; three sons, Craig Davis (Misty) of Springfield, Jimmy Davis of Claxton and Bob Wesley Davis of Claxton; a brother, Collie Barber Jr. (Leighann) of Statesboro; a sister, Patricia Holland of Statesboro; her grandchildren, Nikki Jordan Akins, Wayne Jordan Jr., Emily Davis, Justin Davis, Paige Davis, Zachary Davis, Cierra Joiner, Aaron Davis, Deven Davis, Jordan Bacon, Alissa Epling and Shawn Epling; and great-grandchildren, Caden Akins, Chloe Jordan, Henry Jordan, Kinsley Davis, Mayson Jordan and Brantley Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The family will receive visitors on Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The funeral service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Toby Skrine officiating, assisted by the Rev. George Rhodes. Interment will be in the Portal City Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Byron Davis, Mike Cowart, Clint West, Kirk Barber, Ronnie Lane and Steven Oglesby.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lannigan, Bill Brown, Johnny Motes, Dennis Davis and her extraordinary son-in-law, Wayne Jordan.
