Mr. John "Diddy" King
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. John "Diddy" King, age 80, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
    The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Hayward and Alzater Benton King. He attended the public school system of Bulloch County and was a member of the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
    He is survived by his siblings, Janie Lou King and Edward King, both of Statesboro, Ga.; two uncles, Walter Leroy Hagins, Atlanta, Ga.; and Willie James Hagins, Chesapeake, Va.; nieces, Bruteen Wilkerson, Odessa (Rufus) Knight, Mary Marie Wilson, all of Statesboro, Ga.; Felicia King, Wilmington, N.C.; and Debra (Gerald) Jarvis, Chesapeake, Va.; nephews, Christopher King, Edward King Jr. (Bescena), Daniel (Cynthia) King, David King and Jerry Rawls, all of Statesboro, Ga.; Kennis Wilson, Columbus, Ohio; Shelton King, Metter, Ga.; and Hinton King, Abbeville, Ga.; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Family visitation will be held Friday, January 4, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
    The funeral service for Mr. King will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary Inc. with the Rev. Ronnie S. Tremble officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Highway 24 East, Statesboro, GA.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary Inc.
