SYLVANIA -– Helen Jeanette Evans Mosley, age 85, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Ga.
    She was born in Screven County, Ga., to the late Joseph Solomon and Ollie Rountree Evans.
    She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of Goloid Baptist Church.
    She was a graduate of Warren A. Chandler Nursing School in 1950 and worked in Savannah for 10 years. She then worked in Brunswick for six months at the hospital and then went to work at Snyder & Inman Medical Practice, from which she retired in 1999.
    After the death of her beloved husband, Gene, she moved back home to Screven County in 2000.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene James Mosley.
    Survivors: sister, Doris E. Jolly of Sylvania; brother, James Rountree Evans of Statesboro, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Visitation: Friday, October 5, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
    Funeral service: Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charlie Cooper and the Rev. Bruce Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Goloid Cemetery.
    Pallbearers: Floyd Waters, Tommy Corn, Reuben Ware, Parker Alexander, Buddy Jordon and Kelly Mixon.
    Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
