Darweese Willis Bazemore, 80, of Sylvania, passed December 8, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
    She was born to the late William Herbert and Lottie Lutitia Willis in Millen, Ga.
    She was reared in Screven County and upon graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from the Warren A. Candler School of Nursing, where she obtained her degree in nursing.
    Afterwards, she was employed with the Screven County Hospital for 35 years and retired from Sylview Nursing Home.
    She was a member of the Buck Creek United Methodist Church and had served as church pianist and assisted with church fundraising, having sold countless cookbooks and barbecue tickets.
    She was also a member of the Buck Creek Homemakers.
    She was an avid reader, enjoyed yard saleing and loved good food and music.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lanier “Jimmy” Bazemore; a daughter, Gaetanna B. Lariscy; and sister, Sandra Eugenia Willis.
    She is survived by her granddaughters, Nikki L. and Alex Collins and Paige L. Knight; a brother, Jerald Willis; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Mock, Tanna Mock, Brayton Knight, Corbin Knight and Lillian Collins.
    The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Screven Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Smith officiating.
    The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
    Interment will follow in the Buck Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Danny Willis, Brad Willis, Randy Edenfield, Charles Waters, Alex Collins, Brayton Knight, Nathan Mock and Corbin Knight.
    Honorary pallbearers will be former co-workers of the Screven County Hospital, staff of Willow Pond Senior Care, Judy Brinson, Rhonda Cook, Gary Edenfield and Billy and Betty Jean Newton.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Buck Creek United Methodist Church, in care of Angie Johnson, 1090 Old Poor Robin Road, Sylvania, GA 30467.
