Bonnie Cassedy, age 66, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, from a sudden illness.
    Bonnie was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1970 and received her degree in nursing from Swainsboro Technical School.
    She worked at Bulloch Memorial Hospital for several years and began working at ITT Grinnell, where she served as the head of the nursing department. Bonnie was currently employed with Pleasant View Nursing Home in Metter.
    She enjoyed fishing at Lake George, was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed cooking for her family on special occasions.
    Bonnie very much enjoyed spending time with her family and touched the lives of many people during her long nursing career.
    Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Myrtie Cassedy; brothers, Bennie Earl Cassedy and Raymond Cassedy; and cousin, James “Mose” Cassedy.
    She is survived by four brothers, Tommy Cassedy, Marvin Cassedy, Ricky Cassedy (Holly) and Randy Cassedy, all of Statesboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    A gathering of family and friends will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
    The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters and Mr. Chris Smith officiating. The burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Tony Cassedy, Russ Cassedy, Chris Smith, Jimmy Melton, Daniel Cook and Robert Dixon.
