A woman was found dead Monday behind Office Max in Statesboro, believed to have succumbed to “huffing,” said Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch.

Sharon Franks, 52, of Pioneer Trail in Portal, had a history of inhaling aerosol products and had been reported missing earlier this month, he said.

An unidentified man discovered Franks’ body behind the retail strip that includes Office Max, Cato and the former Kmart Monday afternoon around 1 p.m., according to police radio.

Statesboro police responded and secured the scene before contacting Futch. Franks’ family was informed of her death, he said.
