Candler County sheriff's investigators are "following leads" regarding the shooting of two men Saturday but still have not identified any suspects.

They aren't yet releasing the identities of the victims, ages 28 and 46, said Candler County Sheriff John Miles.

The reason for not disclosing the victims' identities is because "we haven't interviewed them yet," he said.

Investigators expect to question the men soon, but the victims are still recovering in a Savannah hospital, both in stable condition, he said.

Deputies were called to the corner of Highway 46 and Canoochee Road around 1 a.m. Saturday, where they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Miles would not disclose additional details of the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation.

However, he has said investigators are interested in hearing from anyone, even through an anonymous tip, who has any information on the shootings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Miles or Capt. Justin Wells at (912) 685-2683.
