Police: Suspects force entry, demand money owed
Victim engages in physical fight with two men
Statesboro Police Department patch

Statesboro police responded Saturday night to a Lanier Drive apartment, where a victim said he engaged in a fight with two suspects who forced entry into the home.

Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren said two unknown males knocked on the victim's door, demanding to speak to someone that did not live there, who they said owed them money.

Then, the suspects forced their way inside, and the victim "yelled at them to leave," she said. The victim then tried to forcibly remove the suspects, which resulted in a physical struggle, she said.

After the fight began, the two men fled the apartment and left in an unidentified vehicle. No one was seriously injured, she said.

No description was available for the suspects or vehicle.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Statesboro police at (912) 764-9911.
