A Sylvania man involved in a motorcycle accident Wednesday died the following day, Georgia State Patrol reports stated.
Around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Alec Earl Lane, 47, South Fork Road, Sylvania, was traveling southbound on Lakeview Road on a Kawasaki motorcycle, when an Isuzu driven by Troy Lee Wilson, 40, Chandler Road, approached traveling northbound.
Wilson attempted to turn left onto Mallard Pond Road, pulling into Lane’s path, according to a report by Sr. Trooper T. Strickland.
Lane’s motorcycle struck the front of Wilson’s vehicle. After impact, Wilson’s vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane of Lakeview Road, as did Lane’s motorcycle. Lane was ejected and came to a rest on the south edge of Mallard Pond Road, he said.
Lane was taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center by Bulloch County EMS, then transported by helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, where he died Thursday, reports stated.
No charges have yet been filed in the accident.
