Police: Woman tries to run man over after argument over drink

An argument over "something to drink" led to an Orange Street woman striking her boyfriend with a car. 

Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren said Shatasha Monaye Fields, 31, was arguing with her boyfriend Sept. 7 when she, apparently enraged, "tried to run him over."

The couple was reportedly arguing over "her not bringing him something to drink," she said.

Fields did not actually run over the man, but she struck him with her car, causing him to fly up and strike the windshield. He complained of foot pain and was treated at the scene by Bulloch County EMS but declined transport to a hospital.

Warrants were issued for Fields' arrest on aggravated assault/family violence charges. She was located and booked into the Bulloch County Jail Friday, according to reports.
