Police seek suspects in stabbing case

    Statesboro Police has identified two suspects in an Oct. 13 stabbing at Morris Heights Apartments and hopes citizens will help apprehend the suspected offenders.
    Warrants were issued for Orenthines James Thomas, 25, of Morris Heights Apartments, and for Jearomy Janodon Thomas, 28, last known address of G.W. Oliver Road, said Statesboro Pubic Safety Director Wendell Turner.
    Through ongoing investigations, SPD Detective Ben Purvis identified the alleged offenders and issued the warrants, he said. Both are charged with aggravated assault.
    Police responded to a 911 call Oct. 13 around 12:45 p.m. at the apartment complex off Morris Street, where they found Colby Tyrone Barner, 26, of an undetermined Statesboro address, suffering from multiple stab wound to the upper body.
    After initial treatment at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Barner was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he was later listed in stable condition.
    The stabbing stemmed from a fight, according to Statesboro Police Maj. Scott Brunson.
    Both suspects weigh around 130 pounds and stand about 5’6”, he said.
