Statesboro police are seeking information regarding a man suspected in the armed robbery of a Lanier Drive convenience store Monday.

Officers responded to Parker's convenience store around 5:45 a.m. Monday, where "it was reported to the responding officers that an unknown black male armed with a handgun came into the store," Statesboro Police Deputy Chief Rob Bryan, interim chief, said in a release. The suspect then left on foot.

"The responding officers were unable to locate him in the immediate area. No one was injured during the armed robbery," Bryan said.

The offender was described as a black male wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black ski mask.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and assigned to Detective Ben Purvis.
