A man found a nail gun and leaf blower belonging to him in the van of a painter at a job site. The painter admitted taking the tools and apologized. The painter fled when the complainant called deputies.

▲ HIGHWAY 25 — A man mailed a check for $150 to his housekeeper, but she never received it. He investigated and discovered someone had forged the check, using the same check and routing numbers, but made payable to another person.

▲ AKINS CIRCLE — Someone called deputies because a juvenile girl, upon returning from a detention center, became unruly and angry over her room not being as it was when she left.

▲ PLANTER’S LANE — A man found a nail gun and leaf blower belonging to him in the van of a painter at a job site. The painter admitted taking the tools and apologized. The painter fled when the complainant called deputies.

▲ PAMELA WAY — A woman said a man with whom she broke up sent threatening and vulgar texts, called her work to get her in trouble and made false comments about her parenting skills.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ ROBIN HOOD TRAIL — A driver fled after police tried to perform a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign. A passenger identified the driver and police issued warrants for the person’s arrest.

▲ CONNECTIONS APARTMENTS — A person with a gun was arrested on outstanding warrants for terroristic threats and acts from another agency.

▲ MARKET 100 — Police responded to a report of shots fired and found evidence outside a residence. They called the SWAT team, who searched the residence. Reports did not list further details.

▲ Officers issued six traffic citations and one traffic warning and assisted one motorist Thursday.
