Police Report 7-14-11 - A man was shot with a paintball

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests

    Teresa Ann Yarberry, 38, Cone Homes — theft by shoplifting.
    Angie Williams Newton, 44, Gary Street — seat belt violation, driving without a valid license.
    John Lee Mendoza, 24, Bay Branch Church Road, Claxton — theft by shoplifting, obstruction.
    Mario Benson, 38, Lanier Drive — theft by shoplifting.

Incidents
    GREENWOOD AVENUE — A woman said a tenant removed a lock and removed all tools from a storage room.
    WALMART — Police stopped several shoplifters Tuesday. One woman stole a prepaid cell phone. A man took over $66 worth of varied items and when the officer questioned him, “he called me everything but sir,” he wrote in a report. A second man shoplifted a battery for a power chair. In a separate incident earlier this week, a group of unknown men stole nine TVs and a desk top computer.
    MERRYWOOD DRIVE — A man said his roommate changed locks and there was some Lacrosse equipment missing.
    EAGLE GATE APARTMENTS — $585 was reported stolen from a safe.
    SPLASH IN  THE BORO — While she waited in line, someone stole a wallet from a woman’s book bag.
    PARK AVENUE — A purse was stolen from a car.
    WENDY’S — A man was shot by a group of young men with a paintball, but he declined to press charges.
    PLATINUM LOUNGE — Several wallets and makeup bags were reported stolen from a car.
    BAYMONT INN — A GPS unit and laptop computer were stolen from a car.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Arrests

    No arrests Tuesday.

Incidents
    MINCEY ROAD —(Brooklet) An Excelsior EMC representative reported damage to a power box and illegal connection to power.
    U.S. 301 NORTH — A man reported checks and a debit card stolen. The card had been used at various locations and checks had been forged at a number of locations for various amounts.

    Michael Darren McKee, 32, 111 Pheasant Lane, Sylvania — DUI, failure to maintain lane, seat belt violation.

Incidents
    Officers assisted six motorists, responded to one alarm, and issued one traffic warning Tuesday.
    RECREATION ACTIVITY CENTER — Officers responded to a sick person call.
    INFORMATION/TECHNOLOGY BUILDING —Officers were called to the building in reference to a snake.
    RUSSELL UNION — Someone reported a dog locked in a vehicle in the parking lot.
    PHYSICAL PLANT ADMINISTRATION — A wallet found was turned over to officers.
    HANNER FIELDHOUSE — Someone reported a stolen book bag.
    SOUTHERN PINES — A wallet was reported lost or mislaid.
    STADIUM WALK APARTMENTS — Officers assisted Statesboro Police with a suspicious person call.
    UNIVERSITY PLAZA —Officers responded to University Plaza to assist Statesboro Police with a call of a fight.
