Arrests

    Herbert Thomas Taylor III, 31, Nelson Way — theft by shoplifting.
    Brian David Rawls, 38, Vista Circle — wanted person.
    Esmeralda Teresa Paredes, 30, Cypress Lake Mobile Home Park — theft by shoplifting, giving false information.
    Joseph Humphries, 49, Institute Street — wanted person.
    Reginald Joseph Jordan, 22, NW Seventh Avenue, Miami, Fla. — wanted person, giving false information.
    Donatmaria Hobbs, 34, Solomon Circle — wanted person.
 
Incidents
    CARTER DRIVE — A woman received a call from someone claiming she won sweepstakes, but wanted her to send money in order to collect her winnings. The woman was aware this is a scam and reported it to police.
    EAST MAIN STREET — A man reported the theft of a blond and white six month old pit bulldog puppy. The pup was wearing a neon green collar when it went missing.
    MORRIS STREET — A woman said she saw a burgundy Ford Explorer and a blue Ford Crown Victoria speeding through the apartment complex. She said shots were fired in the area and the vehicles left. No injuries were reported.
    BASKIN ROBBINS — A man said he left his wallet with $155 inside the store. When he returned, it was gone and the employees said no one turned it in.
    VARSITY APARTMENTS — A Northland Cable representative reported finding a woman who connected her cable illegally. She admitted doing so, claiming she wanted to see the NBA playoffs.
    WOODLAWN DRIVE — A woman reported a watch, bracelet and several other pieces of jewelry stolen.
    SOUTH EDGEWOOD DRIVE — Two residents reported mail boxes destroyed.
    DELUXE INN — A man reported the theft of a red and silver NET bicycle.
    ZETTEROWER ROAD — A woman reported the theft of a beige 2000 Toyota Camry.
    QUALITY INN & SUITES — A man left $6,000 in a microwave oven in his room. He checked out and forgot the cash, but when he returned, it was gone.
    ALDRED AVENUE — A man reported an Xbox, leaf blower, Wii and TV stolen.
    UNIVERSITY POINTE APARTMENTS — A woman said cigarettes and $175 were stolen from her purse inside a car.
    WALMART — A man was caught shoplifting video games by stuffing them in his pockets.
    CHURCH STREET — A woman said a man choked her, but there were no visible injuries and the man denied doing so.
    SPLASH IN THE BORO — An officer turned over “found property” that was discovered at the park. Reports did not give a description of the property, but said it was turned over to the Statesboro Police Crime Suppression Unit.
