▲ From April 1-7, firefighters responded to the following nine calls: two structure fires (Park Avenue — commercial, fire in wood chip bin, no injuries; Bermuda Run — fire in exterior wall, minor damage, cause unknown and no injuries.

▲ One vehicle crash — Fair Road, one fatality.

▲ Officers issued the following citations April 5-12: one citation for unlawful use of wireless device, one citation for speeding, one citation for failure to stop at a stop sign and one citation for adult seatbelt violation.

▲ CREEKSIDE WAY — Investigators responded to a residential burglary complaint.
▲ HENSLEY ROAD — Someone reported a simple assault.
▲ OLD PENCE FARM ROAD — Deputies took a report on a complaint of criminal trespass involving a vehicle, as well as an entering auto case involving theft.
▲ HIGHWAY 129 — Someone reported an incident of battery and simple battery.
▲ PULASKI SCHOOL ROAD — Deputies responded to a report of simple battery.

▲ SOUTH ROUNTREE STREET — Officers responded to a reported felony theft by deception.
▲ WEST HIAWATHA/SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET — Someone made a complaint of littering.
▲ DAYS INN — Police investigated a report of a suspicious incident. Reports did not list details of the incident.
➤ Portal Police Department
▲ Between April 4-11, officers responded to 11 general calls for service; investigated one vehicle crash; issued eight traffic citations and 10 warnings, as well as performed school and business safety checks.
➤ Bulloch County Animal Shelter
▲ Animals received from rural areas — nine adult dogs, two puppies, 12 adult cats.
▲ Animals received from City of Statesboro — none.
