▲ Leonard Reyes Baeza, 55, Metter — suspended license, failure to signal turn or lane change.

▲ Tavaris Beacham, 28, Vidalia — improper lane use, suspended license, DUI/less safe, open container.

▲ Tarrashia Danielle Carswell, 34,  Lithonia — aggravated assault, obstruction.

▲ Robert Triveil Turner, 39, Stillmore — suspended license.

▲ Keith Derrald Mobley, 48, Jacksonville, Fla. — controlled substance not in original container, possession of drug-related objects,  possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, sale/distribution of dangerous drugs.

▲ Brendon Ridge Woodcock, 30, Metter — battery.

▲ Larry Bernard Upton II, 38, Horizons Bend, Portal — DUI/less safe, speeding.

➤ Brooklet Police Department

▲ Joseph Thomas Hughes, 34, Old Leefield Road, Brooklet — suspended license, suspended registration, giving false information.

➤ Statesboro Fire Department

▲ From April 1-7, firefighters responded to the following nine calls: two structure fires (Park Avenue — commercial, fire in wood chip bin, no injuries; Bermuda Run — fire in exterior wall, minor damage, cause unknown and no injuries.

▲ Three fire alarms, a carbon monoxide alarm and a smoke removal.

▲ One vehicle crash — Fair Road, one fatality.

▲ One public relations/educational event — station tour.

▲ Between April 5-12, firefighters responded to the following calls:

▲ Portal — one woods/grass fire.

▲ Register — one assist with structure fire, one vehicle fire.

▲ Nevils — one vehicle fire.

▲ Bay District — one assist with structure fire.

▲ Stilson — one structure fire.

▲ Brooklet — one assist with structure fire.


➤ Brooklet Police Department

▲ Officers issued the following citations April 5-12: one citation for unlawful use of wireless device, one citation for speeding, one citation for failure to stop at a stop sign and one citation for adult seatbelt violation.

➤ Candler County Sheriff’s Department

▲ WINDWOOD ROAD — Someone reported a criminal trespass incident.

▲ CREEKSIDE WAY — Investigators responded to a residential burglary complaint.

▲ HENSLEY ROAD — Someone reported a simple assault.

▲ OLD PENCE FARM ROAD — Deputies took a report on a complaint of criminal trespass involving a vehicle, as well as an entering auto case involving theft.

▲ HIGHWAY 129 — Someone reported an incident of battery and simple battery.

▲ PULASKI SCHOOL ROAD — Deputies responded to a report of simple battery.


➤ Register Police Department

▲ Officers issued the following citations last week: speeding — three citations; DUI — one citation; headlights violation — one citation; taillights violation — one citation; tag light violation — one citation; window  tint violation — one citation.

➤ Metter Police Department

▲ SOUTH ROUNTREE STREET — Officers responded to a reported felony theft by deception.

▲ WEST HIAWATHA/SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET — Someone made a complaint of littering.

▲ DAYS INN — Police investigated a report of a suspicious incident. Reports did not list details of the incident.

➤ Portal Police Department

▲ Between April 4-11, officers responded to 11 general calls for service; investigated one vehicle crash; issued eight traffic citations and 10 warnings, as well as performed school and business safety checks.

➤ Bulloch County Animal Shelter

▲ Animals received from rural areas — nine adult dogs, two puppies, 12 adult cats.

▲ Animals received from City of Statesboro — none.

▲ Adopted from shelter — five adult dogs, one puppy, one adult cat.

▲ Taken by rescue organizations — 18 adult dogs, three puppies, 10 adult cats and a kitten.

▲ Reclaimed by owners — four dogs.

▲ Died at shelter — no animals.

▲ Dogs /cats euthanized — two adult dogs, three adult cats and one kitten.
