Police Report - 3-29-13; A juvenile female was arrested for stealing a box of fundraiser candy

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    Marja Sharena’e D. Hill, 24, Chandler Road — suspended license, no brake lights, no proof of insurance.
    Andrew M. Ferguson, 24, Georgia Highway 67 — no registration, suspended license.
    Katherine Faye Kay, 30, Acre Road, Sylvania — second-offense DUI.
    Kiana A. Robinson, 18, Georgia Avenue — marijuana possession, speeding.

Incidents
    WALMART — A woman reported a purse stolen from a car.
    In a separate incident, a woman shoplifted hair barrettes, clothing, spark plugs, and hair conditioner by concealing them in a diaper bag.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Arrests
    Eddriss La’Netria Miles, 20, Statesboro Place — theft by shoplifting.
    John Steven Sharpe Jr., 24, Cooper Road, Grovetown — probation violation.
    Stephonna Lavon Sherrod, 20, Statesboro Place — theft by shoplifting.
    Jamal Amin Wilcox, 25, Stambuk Lane — criminal trespass, simple battery.

Incidents
    LAKEVIEW ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman reported costume jewelry stolen after someone knocked in a panel to a front door.
    CYPRESS LAKE ROAD — A woman called 911 to report someone in her house. The call was ended and 911 operators could not make contact with her, so deputies were dispatched to the home from which she called. A man identified himself as the caller’s ex-husband and said he lived there. He works out of town and had not notified her he was coming home. She told deputies she was in the shower when she heard someone and was not happy to find him there when he had not warned her. She told deputies she was leaving for the night.
    WILLIAM JAMES MIDDLE SCHOOL — (Statesboro) Two students were arrested after a fight in the lunch room because one sat in the other’s seat. They were also each suspended for 10 days.
    SOUTHEAST BULLOCH MIDDLE SCHOOL — (Brooklet) A juvenile female was arrested for stealing a box of candy intended to be sold as a fundraiser.
    STILSON-LEEFIELD ROAD — (Brooklet) A man who switched propane companies would not let the previous company retrieve its tank. He demanded the old company pay him the difference in what he paid them and what he was paying the new company, stating the previous company had “price-gouged” him. Deputies ordered the man to allow the previous provider to retrieve their tank.

Arrests
    Officers issued one traffic citation Wednesday.
 
Incidents
    Officers issued two traffic warnings and assisted seven motorists Wednesday.
    NURSE/CHEMISTRY BUILDING — Someone stole a bicycle from the bike rack.
    PLANT DRIVE — A man said vehicle bumped him in the crosswalk. EMS responded and treated and released the subject at the scene.  
    FREEDOM’S LANDING — Officers responded to a report of a verbal altercation between roommates.
    SOUTHERN COURTYARD — A student was judicially referred to school officials — not arrested - for drug and alcohol violations.
