STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    Maurice Middleton, 42, West Jones Avenue — wanted person.
    James Craig Moore, 44, Colfax Road — wanted person, no proof of insurance, driving without license on person.
    Richard Ayris Fountain, 20, U.S. Highway 80 East, Twin City — theft by shoplifting (misdemeanor).

Incidents
    THE AVENUE AT SOUTHERN — Officers met a complainant at 11:39 a.m. Wednesday in the Hanner Fieldhouse parking lot in reference to an assault. The case was turned over to the Operations Bureau Detective Section supervisor for review. A report listed the incident type as aggravated sodomy, which took place between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Monday in an apartment. The complainant, victim and suspect were only listed as “confidential.” No other information was immediately available.
    NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — Someone shattered the passenger-side window and cracked the front windshield of a van belonging to Bright Ideas Lighting Center while it was parked in the 1400 block of Northside Drive East between 1:30 and 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, causing $620 damage. The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Bureau supervisor for review.
    WALMART — An employee told police that between 1:45 and 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, she saw a man conceal a can of canned air, valued at $4.96, inside his jacket and walk out of the store without paying for it. The stolen item was recovered, and the man was arrested.
In a separate incident, two women reported that they saw a man in a gray SUV who appeared to be committing an indecent act in his vehicle at about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.
    THE FORUM — A woman reported Wednesday that between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, someone threw raw eggs onto her patio screen, exposing her cats to the raw eggs.
    WILLIAMS ROAD — A man reported that he last saw his red, 5-foot-by-8-foot open trailer at 9 a.m. Feb. 14 and noticed it missing at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Arrests
    Jerry Allen Durrence Jr., 41, Old River Road North — use or possession of a drug-related object, theft by deception (felony).
    Ricky Dean Brogdon, 49, Deer Run Road — driving while license suspended or revoked.
    Travis Antonio Bacon, 19, Mike Brannen Road, Register — obstruction of an officer.
    Jarvis Donte Mills, 24, Shipman Avenue, Hinesville — probation violation, bench warrant.

Incidents
    OLD RIVER ROAD NORTH — Deputies responded to a residence at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday to serve an arrest warrant. He was found outside the mobile home and arrested. A search of his person revealed a hypodermic needle in his left pants pocket. According to an incident report, the man “pleaded with (the officer) to ‘just throw it away.’” When the officer asked why, the man said the needle was for “drugs.” He was arrested for possession and use of a drug-related object and the felony arrest warrant.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL POST 45
Arrests
    Troopers arrested one motorist for DUI.

Incidents
    Troopers investigated two crashes with one injury; stopped 22 vehicles; issued five citations, including two for seat belt violations; issued 23 warnings, including eight for speeding and eight for seat belt violations; and patrolled 230 miles Wednesday.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY POLICE
Arrests
    William Woodrow Ryals, 19, Eagle Village — possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce).

Incidents
    Officers issued two traffic warnings and assisted four motorists Wednesday.
    NEWTON BUILDING — An incident report was taken at 10:21 a.m. Wednesday for harassment, and the case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.
    UNIVERSITY VILLAS — An incident report was taken at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday for a theft.
    RECREATION ACTIVITY CENTER — An incident report was taken at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday for a theft, and the case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.
    EAGLE VILLAGE — Officers were told at 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, during a fire drill, that there was possibly marijuana in a room. Officers found suspected marijuana and alcohol in the room, arrested a man and charged him with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
