Police report, 10/4/19
Deputies responded to a report of a man, wearing nothing but boxer underwear, asleep in a Nissan Altima. When a deputy asked the man if someone could be called to come get him, the man said he just wanted to stay there and sleep.

Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

CLIFTON ROAD – A woman reported a theft of items from a shop she and her husband own. Incident news summary described this as misdemeanor theft-by-taking and did not list the items.

A RESIDENTIAL STREET – A woman reported that a small struggle occurred when she was getting out of a vehicle where she and her boyfriend had been having an argument. Deputy observed a small cut under the woman’s eye, but she said she didn’t know whether her boyfriend caused the cut or she did.

WESTBORO TOWN HOMES – Deputies responded to a report of a man, wearing nothing but boxer underwear, asleep in a Nissan Altima. When a deputy asked the man if someone could be called to come get him, the man said he just wanted to stay there and sleep, and ended up being arrested for public drunkenness.

HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH – When a deputy stopped for a vehicle parked on the side of the highway, a woman stated that her husband was intoxicated and lying in a ditch nearby, and she couldn’t get him into the car. He also ended up at the county jail on a public drunkenness charge.

Statesboro Police Department

RASH OF ACCIDENTS – SPD officers filed reports of traffic accidents at 10 different times and locations Wednesday.

EAST JONES AVENUE – A woman reported a harassing phone call in which the caller cursed at her and threatened her. The other person involved was issued a criminal trespass warning to stay away from the complainant’s home.


Georgia Southern University Police

Officers issued two traffic citations and assisted one motorist Wednesday.

VEHICLE ACCIDENTS – Officers investigated a collision at Sweetheart Circle and another at Paulson stadium, both on Wednesday afternoon.

EAGLE VILLAGE – Officers responding to a panic alarm logged it as a “sick person” call early Thursday.

SOUTHERN COURTYARD – Someone reported a suspicious person or activities between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Thursday. Reporting officer logged case disposition as “closed.”
