STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    David Lamont Wells, 32, Black Creek Church Road, Brooklet — failure to report striking a fixed object, leaving the scene of an accident, following too closely, failure to maintain lane, third-offense driving with a suspended license.
    Christina Alina Lange, 35, Shane Road — theft by shoplifting.
    Rickie Nelson Grant, 18, Waynesboro Highway, Sylvania — theft by shoplifting.
    Aaron Andrew Hines, 18, Old Louisville Road, Newington — theft by shoplifting.

Incidents
    EAGLE VILLA SUITES — A woman reported the theft of a laptop computer.
    NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST/SAVANNAH AVENUE — A witness followed a man who was involved in an accident and left the scene. The driver fled to Stillwell Street, where he slid off the roadway and struck a railroad track and utility pole. He was arrested.
    RITE AID — An employee took $856 from cash registers and wired money without paying for it herself.
    WALMART — Two 18-year-old men were arrested for shoplifting Yu-Gi-Oh collectible trading cards. They acted suspicious when others approached them in the aisles and were caught removing the cards from packages and placing them in their pockets.
    WALGREENS — A woman called police when she saw a man in his vehicle who was not wearing pants. Police responded but did not find a man without pants in the area.
    VALLEY ROAD — A woman told police she was “horse playing” with a man listed as an offender, and received bruises on her arms. Police reported the offender said he may have left bruises while “horse playing” with the complainant. No action was taken.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Arrests
    Morgan Scott Carpenter, 22, Bethany Creek Drive  Alpharetta — second-degree criminal attempt (drug offense), Violation of the Controlled Substance Act.
    Jimmy David Groover, 31, Pinehurst Place, Port Wentworth — theft by shoplifting.

Incidents
    SINKHOLE ROAD — (Nevils) A woman said her great-grandchild called to say her mother and mother’s boyfriend were fighting. The great-grandmother met deputies and went to the home, where she picked the child up to take to her house. Deputies noticed bruises on the child’s mother’s arms, but the woman said they were sustained while hunting. She said the argument was over a cigarette but the man said he did not recall what they argued about.
    U.S. HIGHWAY 80 EAST — (Statesboro) A trolling motor was stolen from a welding and machine shop.
    301 SOUTH AUTO BODY — (Statesboro) A man reported the theft of several power tools.
    FAIR ROAD PROFESSIONAL PARK — (Statesboro) A woman told deputies when she exited her car, two men made sexual remarks about her and followed her inside until she got in an elevator.

    In December, troopers logged 144 accident calls (with 69 reported injuries), issued 29 seat belt citations, 12 child restraint citations, made 558 vehicle stops, and issued 115 speeding citations.
    Troopers issued 31 seat belt warnings, one child restraint warning, 267 speeding warnings. They arrested three wanted persons, assisted 24 motorists and conducted one security detail. Troopers logged 21,434 miles patrolled in December.
     
GEORGIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY POLICE
Arrests
    Officers issued no traffic citations Thursday.
 
Incidents
    Officers issued no traffic warnings and assisted  four motorists Thursday.
    RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES — Someone reported damage to a golf cart and someone reported a theft.
