Whether you’re in the market for a home, looking for ideas or just want to have a great time, there’s “something for everyone” at the 2008 Parade of Homes and home show, said Keely NeSmith Fennell, president of the Home Builders Association of Statesboro.
The Parade of Homes is Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 4, from noon until 5 p.m., she said. The event is sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Statesboro.
So is the Home Show, which will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Home Builders headquarters in Statesboro’s Market District, she said.
The Parade of Homes features 28 homes in 15 area subdivisions. A guide to the Parade of Homes was distributed last week in the Statesboro Herald, and is also available at the Statesboro Herald office, Homebuilder’s office, and area building supplies businesses, she said.
Inside the guide is a map of homes included in the tour.
“This will showcase construction in Statesboro,” she said. “It will display the craftsmanship of lots of people in Statesboro” who contributed to building some of the most beautiful homes in the area. “There will be lots of different talents featured, and the tour will give people options of what’s available.”
There are homes within all price ranges, she said.
There will be 30 vendors at the Home Show, Fennell said. People who are planning to build or remodel, or who enjoy “do-it-yourself” projects will be able to find ideas and products they need.
And children will enjoy Dilly Dally the clown, food from Blimpies, and will be able to participate in the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department Child ID program, she said.
Door prizes and drawings for a cruise for two and a Biltmore estate trip will also be featured at the home show.
“There is something for everybody, and it will be a fun, family day,” she said.
