Statesboro police arrested a Metter man Tuesday, charged with sexual battery against a child.After several weeks’ investigation into the incident, which reportedly occurred May 16 at a South Easy Street home in Statesboro, Statesboro police Det. Travis Kreun arrested Patrick Wayne Jackson, 53, of Creekside Way in Metter, according to an incident report filed May 27.The 14-year-old female victim knew Jackson, said Statesboro police Cpl. Justin Samples.A 57-year-old man reported the incident May 27, when police were called to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where the victim was being examined, reports stated.Kreun arrested Jackson Tuesday, charging him with child molestation and sexual battery against a person under 16, which is a felony, according to Bulloch County Jail records.Jackson was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he awaits bond and other court hearings.Holli Deal Saxon may be reached at (912) 489-9414.
