A Metter man is charged in the Sunday night stabbing of another person.

Candler County sheriff's Deputy Brandon McGahee responded late Sunday night to a Dixon Grove Circle home after East Georgia Regional Medical Center staff in Statesboro notified authorities of a stabbing victim in the emergency room, according to sheriff's reports.

McGahee found Mario Rosales Cerecedo, 38, of Dixon Grove Circle, "sitting on a bench," reports stated.

Due to a language barrier, an interpreter was brought to the scene, and after investigation, Cerecedo was charged with aggravated assault.

He was taken to the Candler County Jail, where he remains without bond awaiting further court hearings.

Details regarding the victim's wounds and condition were unavailable Monday.
