A Brooklet man who reportedly stabbed his cousin in the back Tuesday remains in the Bulloch County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

Bulloch County Jail records Wednesday night showed no bond for Colby Walter Zeigler of Cash Road in Brooklet.

Bulloch County sheriff’s Capt. Todd Hutchens said Zeigler, 23, and an unidentified cousin were in a vehicle together when they engaged in a fight, “pushing and slapping” each other. Then, they both exited the vehicle and continued to fight, when Zeigler pulled a knife and “stabbed his cousin in the back.”

Both men then got back into the vehicle and drove to a Cash Road location, where they called for help, he said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Zeigler is detained until he faces a bond hearing, according to jail records.
