A Sylvania man who had been staying with relatives in Bulloch County is accused of sexually inappropriate interaction with a minor.
Glen Reginald Walden, 40, originally of a Halcyondale Road, Sylvania address, had been staying with family members on Burkhalter Road near Statesboro for about a year before his arrest, said Bulloch County Sheriff’s Capt. Todd Hutchens.
Walden reportedly had a habit of “staying up late and watching TV” with a 15-year-old female relative, and on occasions, reportedly “touched her private area and showed her pornographic material on an electronic device, namely a cell phone,” he said.
But when deputies showed up to arrest Walden at the Burkhalter Road home, he fled, Hutchens said.
The alleged incidents were reported Aug, 20, but Walden evaded arrest until Tuesday, when agents with the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force located him in Effingham County, he said.
Walden was taken into custody and returned to Bulloch County, where he was booked into the Bulloch County Jail on charges of felony sexual battery against a child under 16, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and child molestation.
He is being held without bond, according to jail records.
