A Brunswick man was killed early Monday morning as he tried to cross a busy highway near the Bulloch-Jenkins county line. Jenkins County Coroner Henry Young said Tuesday that David Lawrence, 60, was wearing dark jeans and a tan jacket when he stepped into traffic around 5:55 a.m. on U.S. Highway 25 near Gay’s Hill Church Road. A driver in a Nissan Altima struck Lawrence, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Young said.
