Consider supporting Odyssey of the Mind Statesboro team

On April 16 of this year, the Statesboro High School Odyssey of the Mind "Extreme Mousemobile" Team won second place in the Georgia competition. The win earned them the privilege to compete at the international level.
It is Statesboro High's first Odyssey team so it's an especially remarkable accomplishment to make it to the World Finals. The students have been perfecting their mouse-trap powered vehicles, incredible costumes, and hilarious performance since early September. And their spirit for competition is as strong as ever!
Students from around the world will compete in the 32nd Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at the University of Maryland from May 27 to May 30. This is a mere six weeks after their state competition. Odyssey has grown into such a massive, global event because it makes learning fun while giving kids the chance to explore their imaginations and express their creativity. The team now has the daunting task of raising nearly $15,000 needed to keep them moving forward to the final level of competition.
Students are already involved in many fundraising activities to pay a portion of these expenses. But they will need considerable help from other sources. They have a short period of time to raise a large sum of money. These outstanding students - Jane Hayes, Jake Orvis, Sydney Davis, Fielding Keeley, Bailey Hitt, Schad Lloyd and Chelsea Williams - will represent our school and community to the entire world in this first-class event.
Please consider contributing toward putting this team in an international arena of their peers. This is an enormous undertaking but these kids, obviously, love a good challenge!
Donations can be sent to Statesboro High School, Odyssey of the Mind Boosters, Attn. Kathy Hendrix, 10 Lester Road, Statesboro, Ga. 30458. Checks should be made to the Odyssey of the Mind Parent Group. Thank you in advance for your support.
