Georgia Southern University will begin distributing free tickets next week for former first lady Laura Bush's appearance.
She is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Hanner Fieldhouse as part of the university's Leadership Lecture Series.
Tickets are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will not be available at the door the night of the event. The following dates have been designated for students, faculty, staff and the community to get tickets.
Student tickets will be distributed daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 3 through 10 in the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement, Russell Union, Room 1056. Students must present their Eagle ID at the time of pick-up and will be limited to one ticket per person.
Faculty and staff tickets will be distributed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 in the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. They must present their Eagle ID at the time of pick-up and will be limited to two tickets per person.
Community members will be able to pick up tickets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10 at the Hanner box office. Tickets also will be available on those days during regular business hours at the Georgia Southern City Campus, 58 E. Main St., and the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St. in Savannah. Community members will be limited to two tickets per person.
Those planning to attend should plan to arrive early and note that the doors will close at 6:45 p.m., after which time no one will be admitted. No photographs or recording of the event will be allowed. For more information, visit GeorgiaSouthern.edu/Mrs.Bush.
