An armed robbery in Brooklet Sunday night has been turned over to agents from the Statesboro office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Brooklet Police Chief Mike Buchan said police responded to the Dollar General on U.S. Highway 80 East around 9:50 p.m. after receiving a call about an armed robbery.

Buchan said no one was injured in the robbery, which involved guns, but said further questions should be directed to GBI agents, who could not immediately be reached Monday evening.

Investigators seek two men who reportedly walked into the store, pulled guns and demanded cash, according to media reports.

Bulloch County sheriff's deputies also assisted in the initial response, Chief Deputy Jared Akins said. However, the investigation remains in the hands of GBI.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call the Statesboro GBI Office at (912) 871-1121 or the Brooklet Police Department at (912) 842-9911.
