Voters with their minds already set do not have to wait until Election Day to cast a ballot in the November city election.
Early voting began Monday at the Bulloch County Courthouse — in the Registrar's Office — and will continue through Friday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m.
Statesboro residents will decide a pair of races this fall: mayor and Statesboro City Council District 1.
According to Shontay Jones, of the Bulloch County Registrar's Office, interested voters may cast a ballot at the courthouse Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
To submit a ballot, individuals must be registered to vote and be a resident of the city of Statesboro (mayor's race) or District 1 (council race).
Voters are required to provide valid photo identification, she said. A Georgia driver's license, identification card issued by a branch, department, agency or entity of the state of Georgia, another state or the United States, or a valid passport will be accepted. A military identification card or valid tribal identification card is also OK.
As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, 44 ballots had been completed by Statesboro voters.
