Dr. Glen Dasher and Dr. T.J. Miller welcome Dr. Luke Krautter to Southern Family Medicine. Southern Family Medicine has offices in Statesboro and Claxton with a new office under construction in Statesboro in the Market District.

Dr. Krautter was born in Youngstown, Ohio. Growing up, he watched his father serve their community through the practice of medicine. When Luke was a teenager, his father passed from cancer, and it was then that Luke decided he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue medicine.

In 2007, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology. Krautter attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati and graduated in 2011. During his time there, he decided to become an Army physician. He completed his residency training for Family Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu.

The Army brought Krautter to Southern Georgia where he worked at Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart until his military separation in Fall 2018.

Krautter said he is excited to be joining Southern Family Medicine.

Krautter currently lives in Richmond Hill, Georgia, with his wife, Tara, and their two children, Norah and Ian.  He said he enjoys woodworking, traveling, technology and playing the piano.
