A man confronted by a group of women looking for a suspected burglar Friday chased them through a neighborhood with a stolen gun, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
Willie Rufus Key, 62, of Chance's Mobile Home Park, was charged Friday with three counts of aggravated assault, felony theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Deputies initially responded to a Stucky Road residence earlier Friday, where three women reported a burglary.
A short time later, deputies were called to Chance's Mobile Home Park in Clito, where they met with the three victims, who had driven to the area to confront someone they suspected in the burglary at their home, Anderson said.
While at the mobile home park, the women became involved in an altercation with Key, who "brandished a shotgun at the three females and chased them throughout the mobile home park," the sheriff said, adding that deputies learned Key was a convicted felon and that the gun he used had been stolen in a burglary earlier this year.
Key was not the suspect in the Stucky Road burglary, Anderson said.
Deputies arrested Key and took him to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond.
