A 16-year-old boy has run away, Statesboro police said in a Nixle alert issued Friday afternoon.

Velmon Dowling is described as a biracial male, 5 feet 9 inches, 150 pounds.

He was last seen Thursday on North Main Street, near the center of Statesboro, wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
