Two women were found dead Christmas Day at separate residences. One woman is believed to have died of natural causes, but questions surround the death of the other.
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of  Vickie Curzon, 55, Winding Way, "found deceased in her residence …,” said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson. “The scene was processed for evidence and the next of kin were notified.”
Sheriff’s investigators were notified around 1 p.m. Tuesday of the death. Curzon’s body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Coastal Crime Lab in Savannah for an autopsy.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s Inv. Jared Akins said further details of the death, including whether investigators consider the death suspicious, would not be revealed until after autopsy reports were reported. Autopsy results are expected this morning, he said.
“At this point the cause of death is undetermined and the case is actively under investigation,” Anderson said. Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact Akins at (912) 764-1789.
The death of a Sheila Chambers, 44, Nesmith Proctor Road, is believed to be from natural causes, Anderson said.
Deputies were called to the home around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, where the family found the woman dead. She suffered from an extensive medical history. “At this point there is no evidence of foul play and the death appears to be from natural causes,” he said.
