An attempt to serve a parole violation warrant ended with eight arrests Wednesday after Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia at a Martin Swinson Road residence. The arrests also led to further charges Thursday after the Statesboro-Bulloch County Crime Suppression Team (CST) executed a search warrant at the address of two of the eight originally charged Wednesday.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, parole officers called deputies and CST members to 875 Martin Swinson Road to help locate Joseph Carter, 25, Lusan Drive, Ellabelle, who was wanted on a parole violation. After arriving at the home, investigators found “marijuana and several smoking devices in plain view,” according to the press release. After speaking with seven people who were at the residence, investigators then obtained a search warrant and found a large marijuana plant and an eighth person hiding in a closet.
Arrested in the incident were Christine Corzine, 22, SR 119, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor) and possession of a drug-related object; Joshua Shuman, 39, Martin Swinson Road, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana, (misdemeanor) and possession of a drug related object; Coleridge Archibald, 23, Pleasant Hill Church Rd, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor) drug object and probation violation; Anthony Downs, 22, Still Quarters Rd, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor) and drug object
Also charged were Adam Webster, 32, Olney Station Drive, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor) ,drug object and parole violation; Jacob Waldron ,19, Martin Swinson Road, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), manufacturing marijuana (felony), and drug object; Joseph Carter, 25, Lansan Drive, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana, (misdemeanor), drug object and parole violation; and Melanie Boone, 32, Olney Station Drive, Ellabell, charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor).
All eight were arrested at transported to the Bulloch County Jail.
The following day, CST investigators executed a search warrant at 118 Olney Station Drive in Ellabelle, and again found Boone and Corzine in possession of marijuana, prompting another possession charge for each. Shannon Eugene Manley, 38, Eldora Road, Ellabelle, was also charged with possession of marijuana at the time.
While the investigators were gathering evidence at the residence, Teresa Boone, 53, Live Oak Loop, Ellabelle, and Harry Boone, 20, Live Oak Loop, Ellabelle, arrived at the home and became “extremely disorderly,” according to the release. Investigators asked them to leave the scene several times, and after they refused, they were both charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a police officer.
Charges were also added for Webster for sale of methamphetamine, sale of a schedule I drug (spice,) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Webster was also charged probation violation and is being held without bond.
