Kimberly Ruth Waters Gregory Ellis Barlow

       Mr. and Mrs. Harry Leonard "Len" Waters of Statesboro, Georgia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Ruth Waters, to Gregory Ellis Barlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth David "Buddy" Barlow of Cairo, Georgia.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hal C. Waters Sr. of Statesboro, Ga., Mrs. Ruby C. Haywood and the late Mr. C. Harold Haywood of Macon, Ga. Kimberly is a 2002 honor graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of The University Collegiate Debate Team. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Georgia Franklin College of Arts and Sciences in Comparative Literature, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She attended Georgia Southern University and received a Master's in English degree, focusing on high school English education. She is currently employed as the American Literature team leader at Villa Rica High School in Villa Rica, Ga.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph David Barlow of Cairo, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Junior Newmons of Cairo, Ga. He is a 2000 honor graduate of Cairo High School and a 2004 magna cum laude graduate of Valdosta State University. He received a Bachelor of English degree and minors in Journalism and Creative Writing. He attended Georgia Southern University and received a Master's of English from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. He currently teaches composition and writing at Georgia Gwinette College in Lawrenceville, Ga.
       A garden wedding is planned for April 9, 2011, at the home of the bride's parents in Statesboro, Ga.
       No local invitations will be sent. Family and friends are invited to attend.
