The Rev. and Mrs. John Wesley and Jan Moye of Brooklet, Ga., are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ashley Moye, to Steven Scott Shoemake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney and Kim Fowler of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Rob and Kellee Christian of Suwanee, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Ruth Peeler and the late Mr. Lewis Peeler of Milledgeville, Ga., and Mr. L. John Moye III and the late Mrs. Carol Moye of Davisboro, Ga. Ashley is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she has earned two degrees. In 2010, she received a Bachelor of Science in child and family development and in 2013 a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Danny and Sandra Shoemake of Atlanta and Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Latha Fowler of Statesboro. He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Jeanette Summer of Union City, Ga. Steven is a 2006 graduate of Statesboro High School and a 2012 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.
    The couple has planned to wed on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Brooklet United Methodist Church.
