Dr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Morris Jr. of Charleston, S.C., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Anne, to David Bryant "Ryan" Quick Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bryant Quick of Waynesboro, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Morris Watson of Statesboro and the late Robert F. Morris and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Vestal. Melissa is a 2001 graduate of Statesboro High School and attended Auburn University, where she was a member of the Alpha Mu Chapter of Phi Mu. She will graduate from Georgia Southern University in May 2011.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Jenkins and Mrs. Evelyn Quick Sprout, all of Waynesboro, and the late Mr. George B. Quick. Ryan is a 2002 honor graduate of Edmund Burke Academy and attended Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of the Eta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is currently employed as a retail sales consultant with Verizon Wireless in Statesboro.
    The wedding is planned for December 18th at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Statesboro.
