Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Robert Lovett of Macon announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Allen Lovett, to Ian Matthew McMullen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Marion McMullen of Milledgeville.
    The wedding is planned for December 11, 2010, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Macon.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Russell McCann and the late Mr. Robert Russell McCann of Avondale Estates and Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Lovett of Statesboro. Ruth is a 2002 graduate of Stratford Academy, a 2004 Bon Hommes presentee and earned a B.S. in Communication Disorders from Auburn University, where she served as vice president of her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. She is currently employed as a legal assistant at Lovett & Myers, LLC.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sidney Davis Jr. and the late Mr. Harry Morris Hargrove Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Parnell McMullen, all of Milledgeville. Ian graduated with honors with distinction from Baldwin High School in Milledgeville in 2003, graduated, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Political Science from Georgia College & State University. Ian also graduated, cum laude, in 2009 from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He is currently practicing law in Macon with the firm James, Bates, Pope & Spivey, LLP.
