Lacey Lanier became the bride of Stephen Lewis during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony held on March 31, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Portal. The Reverend Don Berry officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Jimmy and Ann Lanier of Portal, Ga., and is the granddaughter of Myrle Sparks and the late Arthur Sparks and the late Denver and Virginia Lanier.
    The groom is the son of the late Franklin and Deborah Lewis and is the grandson of the late Claudie and Caroline Lewis and the late Edward and Sara Freeman.
    Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory, side-draped gown with a fit and flare skirt and sweep train. The gown was accented by beaded appliques and a lace-up back.
    Mandy Buffo and Haley Nesmith served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Brooks, Jennifer Burke, Erica Courson, Lea Lanier, Lindsay Miller, Kimberly Morris and Casey Steele.
    Michael Brinson served as the groom’s best man. Groomsmen were Kris Boykin, Joey Burke, Lionel Gordon, Wyman Gordon, Andy Jones, Mark Lanier, Jason Lanier, Mark Tanner, Jeremy Walker and Jamie Waters. Henry Lanier, Hudson Lanier and Jack Steele served as ring bearers.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Historic Statesboro Inn.
    The couple honeymooned in Saint Lucia and resides in Statesboro.
