Mr. and Mrs. Wayne A. Brannen of Statesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Annette Brannen of Tifton, Ga., to Nathan Jehu Tyson of Tifton, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony W. Tyson of Colbert, Ga.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jack and Catherine Brannen of Statesboro, Ga., and Billie Jane and the late Billie Joe Deal, also of Statesboro, Ga. She is a 2004 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a 2009 graduate of The University of Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She is a 2010 graduate of the Augusta Area Dietetic Internship and is currently employed as a clinical dietitian at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of Willie and Barbara Tyson of Perry, Ga., and the late John and Jodie Behrends of Perry, Ga. Nathan is a 2004 graduate of Portal High School and a 2008 graduate of The University of Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness. He will complete a Master of Plant Protection and Pest Management in December 2010 from The University of Georgia, Tifton campus.
        The couple has planned to wed on March 12, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
