    Mrs. Rosa Smith of Brooklet and Mr. Cecil Kessler of North East, Md., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Gina Frances Stokes of Statesboro, to David James Winnette, son of Douglas and Charlene Winnette of Marietta, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Patricia Bjertness of Brooklet and Mrs. Estella and the late Paul Kessler Sr. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. Albert and Mrs. Ruby Hitchcock. Ms. Stokes is a 1995 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and is a 2000 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is currently employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center and is currently attending Georgia Southern University, where she will graduate with her Master of Science in Nursing in 2009.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Kenneth and Mrs. Jo Ann Winnette and Mr. Charles and the late Lutherine “Dimple” Harbin. Mr. Winnette is a 2000 graduate of Harrison High School and is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sports medicine-athletic training. He is currently employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center and is currently attending Georgia Southern University, where he will graduate this May with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
    The wedding will take place on May 24, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church.
