    Karen Suzanne Samford became the bride of Bryant Lane Tatum on Saturday, September 27, 2008, during a 5:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony held under the live oak trees in front of the home built by Henry and Clara Ford of The Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill, Ga. Dr. Charles L. Houston of the Statesboro First United Methodist Church in Statesboro officiated.
    Following the ceremony, a seated dinner reception was held outside on the grounds overlooking the Ogeechee River.
    The bride is the daughter of Ms. Katherine Koehnemann Samford and Mr. and Mrs. John Singleton Pitts Samford, all of Birmingham, Ala. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Benjamin Donovan and the late Frank Park Samford Jr. of Birmingham and Mrs. Roger Timothy Kelley and the late Robert Eugene Koehnemann of Panama City, Fla. Suzanne is a 2000 graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is online marketing director at The Statesboro Herald in Statesboro.
    The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wayne Tatum of Glennville, Ga., and is the grandson of Mrs. John Warner Branch and the late Mr. Branch and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Joe Tatum, all of Glennville. He is a 2000 graduate of Brewton Parker College and is the owner of 144 Degree Solutions, a technology consulting firm in Statesboro.
    Escorted by her father, the bride wore a classically inspired, strapless, fitted ivory silk organza gown finished with a top layer of Alencon banded French lace. The antique cathedral lace veil, from Belgium, is a family heirloom purchased by the bride’s great-grandmother, Hatie Mae Samford. The bride’s bouquet was a combination of white large and mini calla lilies, dendrobium orchids and green hypericum berries, with ivory satin ribbon strands randomly pinched holding small dendrobium orchids, draping the full length of the wedding gown.
    Maid of honor was Laura Ahn Samford of Birmingham, Ala., sister of the bride. Brittany Jessica Tatum was Junior bridesmaid. Bridesmaids were Sarah Scruggs Olson, Emily Abernethy Samford and Erin Burns Sullivan. Honorary bridesmaids were Brantley Clary deBrux, Shannon Nolan Connor, Virginia Bunting Crescenzi, Julie Thorsen Flippen, Melissa Abele Hill, Kate Porter Hovey, Anna Ficken Losovitz and Anne Lowery Peterson.
    The bridesmaids wore sage green chiffon tea-length dresses and carried bouquets of white calla lilies.
    Joe Wayne Tatum of Glennville, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Glenn Thomas Curry, Daniel William Samford, Joe Bradley Tatum, Zachary Brandon Tatum and Clarence Ronald Thornton Jr. Ushers were James Justin Daniel, Graham Austen Tolbert and Michael Lance Turner.
    After a honeymoon to the Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple will reside in Statesboro.
