    David and Dodie Mitchell of Brunswick announce the engagement of their daughter, Christie Mitchell, to David Franklin Richardson, son of Beth and Tom Dartez of Statesboro and Jimmy and Vivian Richardson of Dahlonega.
    The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dot Harvey of Brunswick, the late Buddy Harvey, formerly of Brunswick, Mary Mitchell of Brunswick and the late C.D. Mitchell, formerly of Brunswick. Miss Mitchell is a 2003 graduate of Brunswick High School and in 2007 graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. She is employed as marketing director for Chick-fil-A, St. Simons Island.
    The groom-to-be is the grandson of Carter and Faye Berkeley of Statesboro and Jimmy and Joanne Richardson of Waynesboro. Mr. Richardson is a 2004 graduate of Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega. He anticipates graduating from Georgia Southern University in May with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Following graduation, he plans to attend physical therapy school.
    A 6:30 p.m. wedding is planned for June 14 at First United Methodist Church, Statesboro, with a reception to follow at Forest Heights Country Club.
