Mr. and Mrs. Richard David Harter of Dublin, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Marie Harter of Dublin, to Charles Stanley Akins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis W. Akins and Cathy King of Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dickie Herring Harter and the late William Petrie Harter of Albany, Ga., Darrell Wayne Jackson of Elgin, S.C., and the late Mary Jackson Fowler of Fort Gaines, Ga. She is a 2000 honor graduate of Dublin High School and is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science in broadcasting. Sarah is currently employed by T. Lake Environmental Design and Now Magazine in Dublin.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Maxine Quarles Cooley and the late Charles Alvin Cooley of Statesboro, Dorothy Wilma Akins and the late Robert Eason Akins of Statesboro. He is a 1996 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2006 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science in sport management with a minor in business administration. Stan is currently employed with Andrews Klean Korner and the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County.
