Mr. Timothy Cowart of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Jan Shuman of Brooklet announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Jo Cowart of Brooklet, to Morris Walton Turner III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Walton Turner Jr.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joe and Lila Driggers and Shirley Kennedy and the late Joseph M. Kennedy and is the great-granddaughter of the late Josh and Queen Kennedy and the late Harry and Dala Jones. She is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and is enrolled at Georgia Southern University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is employed by Farmers & Merchants Bank in Statesboro.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Morris Walton Turner Sr. and the late Secina J. Turner and the late Charles P. Keelin and the late Elise K. Rucker and is the great-grandson of the late Arthur and Clydie Turner, the late George and Mildred Johnson, the late Quincey and Elizabeth Smith and the late Charles and Eva Keelin. He is a 2007 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and is employed by the Georgia Ports Authority.
The couple has planned to wed on May 16, 2009, at 4 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils, Ga., with the reception to follow at Meinhardt Vineyards in Nevils.
