    Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Gorman of Washington, D.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Stevens Gorman Blackmon of Hagan, Ga., to Paul Foy Smith, son of Paula Banks Smith and the late Jasper Edmund “Ed” Smith Jr.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie West and the late Mr. and Mrs. Neil Gorman. She is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., and Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She is employed with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Fay Smith and the late Jake Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Banks. He is a graduate of Bulloch Academy in Statesboro and Mercer University in Macon. He is employed with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
    The couple has planned to wed on January 26, 2008, at 5 p.m. at the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church in Statesboro.
    No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
