Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Warren Wilbanks and John Rogers Altman of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Jana Christine Altman, to David Michael Newland, son of Joanne Newland and the late Wayne Newland of Statesboro.
Miss Altman is the granddaughter of Lester Eli Brannen Jr. and the late Sara Cash Brannen and Christine Rogers Altman and the late JG Altman, all of Statesboro. She was an honor graduate of Statesboro High in the year 2000 and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she served as an officer. Miss Altman is currently employed with the Synovous Bank in Atlanta as a private client specialist.
Mr. Newland is the grandson of the late Sydney and Ann Smith of Statesboro and Clarence and Ruby Newland of Orlando, Fla. He graduated from Statesboro High in 1999 and from Georgia Southern University in 2004 with a degree in building construction and management. There he was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then attended and received his master’s degree in building construction from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. Mr. Newland is currently employed as a preconstruction estimator with Choate Construction Company in Savannah.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 7:00 in the evening at the First United Methodist Church in Statesboro.
The couple would like to invite all friends and relatives to join them.
